President Quinn’s Weekly Message
California Santa Rosa Mission
December 26th, 2023
Merry Christmas! Sister Quinn and I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Christmas day.
Sister Quinn and I spoke yesterday in the Rincon Valley Christmas program. We were grateful to share Christmas messages and our testimonies of the Savior. I chose to speak about angels. Not those from the presence of God carrying a message from heaven, but mortal angels that walk among us every day. In a General Conference address several years ago, Elder Holland described these angels:
“… when we speak of those who are instruments in the hand of God, we are reminded that not all angels are from the other side of the veil. Some of them we walk with and talk with—here, now, every day… Indeed, heaven never seems closer than when we see the love of God manifested in the kindness and devotion of people so good and so pure that angelic is the only word that comes to mind.”
I told the members of our ward that this last June Sister Quinn and I were blessed to begin our missionary service with 150 angels who serve in the California Santa Rosa Mission. I shared that you inspire us each day with your angelic attitudes, sacrifices, and service. That you, like heavenly envoys, bring a message of hope to a world growing in chaos and contention.
As I prepared my talk, it occurred to me that the message you share each day is the same one delivered by the angel to the shepherds the night of the Savior’s birth:
“…Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:10-11)
Thank you for the sacrifices you make to serve in CASRM. Thank you for the beautiful message of hope you share with such loving conviction and dedication – as angels have done for centuries. Your message of the Savior’s restored gospel is the greatest source of hope in the world. Those who accept your message need not fear the challenges and difficulties of life.
Sister Quinn and I are grateful to serve with you remarkable modern-day angels. You lift and inspire us each day. Thank you! We look forward to the miracles and blessings of the new year in our continued and combined service to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Love,
President Quinn
