Go Deep - Part 4

Go Deep - Part 4

President Quinn’s Weekly Message

California Santa Rosa Mission

August 14th, 2023

Hello!  I hope this letter finds you healthy and happy.  Sister Quinn and I enjoyed meeting with the Ukiah, San Rafael, and Santa Rosa Zones last week for interviews.  It was a delight being with you in person!  We have now had the opportunity of meeting each of you 1-to-1.  We have loved it!

In our interviews, I asked how you decided to “go deep” in strengthening your discipleship to Jesus Christ.  I received many inspiring responses.  This week in my letter I have chosen to share a few of your responses.  I hope you are as inspired as I was:

Obedience: “I let my obedience to small things slip.  I’m focusing to be obedient to the small things in my mission.”

Prayers: “I’m going deeper with my prayers.  I’m spending time before and after my prayers meditating and pondering.  My prayers used to go one direction – from me to my Heavenly Father.  I now feel that that my prayers go both ways.  I am receiving inspiration for my mission.”

Book of Mormon Study: “I’ve decided to read the Book of Mormon more slowly.  I am stopping often during my study to pray about the truthfulness and application of the things I’m reading.”

Faith: “I have learned to replace fear with faith.  Too many times before my mission I allowed my fears to control the decisions I made.  In the future, I will allow faith to help me make decisions.”

Charity: “I’ve been studying charity.  I decided to spend a week trying to see people and things through the Savior’s eyes.  The difference in how I saw people, even strangers, was amazing.”

Space in this letter does not allow me to share all the inspiring responses I heard.  Thank you for taking this invitation seriously.  I know you will be blessed as you work to strengthen your discipleship to the Savior by “going deep” in things that will strengthen you spiritually.

Sister Quinn and I pray for your safety and success.  Please reach out to us if there is anything we can do for you.

Love,

President Quinn
