President Quinn’s Weekly Message

California Santa Rosa Mission

 In just over three weeks we will have the opportunity to travel to the Oakland Temple as a mission. Sister Quinn and I are grateful to President and Sister Hodgman and the Area Presidency for making it possible for us to attend the temple together as a mission.

For your information, I have invited former CASRM missionaries who returned home in the last two transfers to join us in their local temple on these two days at 11:00 PT. Though we will be hundreds and thousands of miles apart, I am confident we will feel united and strengthened by the Spirit.

I am inspired and gratified that so many of you have expressed the desire to attend the temple during your missionary service. Your desire to visit the temple is a witness to the spiritual depth of discipleship to Jesus Christ in CASRM.

As you prepare for the temple, I invite you to consider the instruction President Nelson recently provided:

 “The temple lies at the center of strengthening our faith and spiritual fortitude because the Savior and His doctrine are the very heart of the temple. Everything taught in the temple, through instruction and through the Spirit, increases our understanding of Jesus Christ. His essential ordinances bind us to Him through sacred priesthood covenants. Then, as we keep our covenants, He endows us with His healing, strengthening power. And oh, how we will need His power in the days ahead.”  (President Russell M. Nelson, The Temple and Your Spiritual Foundation, General Conference October 2021) The temple provides us many sacred truths and ordinances to “go deep” in our discipleship to the Savior. The temple endowment is rich with symbolism of the Savior’s divine appointments as Jehovah, Immanuel, Anointed One, Messiah, Creator, Redeemer, Savior, Advocate, Exemplar, Son of God, and Christ. My prayer for the next three weeks will be that each of us will prepare ourselves to see the Savior in the endowment – to feel and witness His loving Spirit and strength. I testify that as we seek the Savior in His holy house, we will find Him. We will be healed from our weaknesses, strengthened spiritually to deepen our discipleship, and blessed with needed inspiration to know the mind and will of the Lord for us and those we love.
