Let Your Light Shine
Let Your Light Shine
President Quinn’s Weekly Message
California Santa Rosa Mission
December 16th, 2024
We enjoyed our time with you last week in the house of the Lord and in our testimony meetings. Thank you for joining with us. My hope and prayer are that we each have memories from this week that will sustain and inspire us for years to come.
Over the last two weeks, I have written messages to encourage us to find ways to share the light of Jesus Christ during this Christmas Season. It is our privilege to be emissaries of Jesus Christ during this holy season. In a recent Light the World message, President Nelson encouraged us to share the light of Christ. He offered ways we can do it:
“As we follow Jesus Christ, we can make this a better world. So this Christmas season, will you let your light shine? Amid all the hustle and bustle… will you let your life reflect the light and love of Jesus Christ?
“With a dawning of each day, could you identify someone who needs your light? Perform a quiet act of service to help someone nearby. Help someone turn to the Savior and find enduring peace and divine rest.
“There is no better way to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ than by lifting, loving, and serving others.
“God be thanked for loving us enough to send His only begotten Son. Jesus Christ changed the world for each of us with His atoning sacrifice. He is the Light of the World. He is the light we need to hold up. He is the light that fills us with goodwill toward all people. I love the Lord Jesus Christ and testify that He lives.
“As we celebrate His birth in Bethlehem, let us emulate His life of loving kindness.”
I love the invitations made by President Nelson in his message to us. Please reflect on his message. Please reflect on the priceless gift our Heavenly Father gave us through the life and Atonement of Jesus Christ. During these final two weeks of the holiday season, take time each day to ponder on the gift of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Let your appreciation for the Savior motivate you in finding ways you can bring the light of Christ into the lives of those you have been called to serve – and serve with. As President Nelson taught, there is no better way to celebrate Christmas than sharing your light through service.
I have found in my life that Jesus Christ is a multiplier. On many occasions, he has taken my humble and sincere offerings and multiplied them. I testify that as you share your light with others, your light will be magnified – not only in their lives but in your life as well.
We enjoyed the miracle of having 6 baptisms across CASRM this week. These baptisms give us a total of 43 baptisms since the challenge was issued. We have 9 friends on date this week and another 41 between now and year end. Let’s continue doing all we can to help our friends be baptized. I know we can still reach our goal of 66 baptisms.
Sister Quinn and I express our love and gratitude for each of you. It is a great blessing to serve with you in CASRM. We hope you are enjoying an extra measure of the Spirit as you serve the Savior during this Christmas Season.
Love,
President Quinn
