Sister Quinn and I have reminisced several times about the joy we felt being with you in the house of the Lord last week. The sweet testimonies you shared. The beautiful music presented in our testimony meetings. The light each of your radiated as we sat and stood together in the Celestial Room of the temple. Sister Quinn and I have also spoken of the love we feel for you. What a blessing you are in our lives!
My message this week is my testimony of the house of the Lord.
I know that our temples are the house of the Lord. I know He walks the halls of His holy temples. As I moved through the house of the Lord on Wednesday and Thursday, I imagined him walking the hallways and standing in the Celestial Room as we did. I have felt His loving spirit and presence often in His holy house. I have heard His voice through the whisperings of the Holy Ghost while worshiping in the Lord’s house. The house of the Lord is a place of revelation, remembrance, and love for me.
I know that the ordinances performed in the house of the Lord are sealed by the holy priesthood of God. I am grateful for the sealing ordinance that binds me eternally to Sister Quinn, our extended family, our dear children, and our precious grandchildren. My family is the greatest treasure of my life. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us perfectly. He desires that our family relationships be eternal. The greatest desire of my life is to live eternally with my family, my Savior, and my Heavenly Parents. This desire guides the priorities and decisions of my life.
I witness the spiritual power available from our covenants. I know that honoring our covenants will provide us strength and peace in a world growing in chaos, darkness, and confusion. I testify that honoring our covenants will provide us the pathway and light needed to return to our Heavenly Father. I know covenants are designed by our loving Father in Heaven to teach us what brings true happiness in life.
I will never forget the days we spent together in the house of the Lord this week. Sister Quinn and I will cherish these memories forever. Jesus Christ lives! I know He leads this Church – and His work of gathering Israel through a living prophet. The Spirit has born witness to my heart of these truths on many occasions. I share this testimony with you, my dear fellow disciples of Jesus Christ, in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen.
