Prepare Your Hearts
“Prepare Your Hearts”
President Quinn’s Weekly Message
California Santa Rosa Mission
March 24th, 2025
It’s here! This next week we will have the privilege of participating in a mission tour with Elder Peter Johnson, a General Authority Seventy, and his wife, Stephanie. They will instruct and train us during their five-day visit to CASRM. I am excited to be taught by Elder and Sister Johnson. I am also excited see all of you over two days in zone conferences. This is a unique opportunity for our mission. Sister Quinn, our senior couples, and missionary leaders are working hard to make this a memorable experience for all of us. I am grateful for their preparation. It’s going to be awesome!
The prophet Samuel invited his people to “prepare your hearts unto the Lord” (1 Samuel 7:3). I extend the same invitation to you. Please take time this week to prepare yourselves spiritually to receive inspiration from a servant of the Lord who has come by special assignment to be with us. Come to the conference with questions you would like answered. I know that as you prepare yourself spiritually, you will receive inspired messages specific to your missionary service and life. I am grateful for the goodness and love of the Lord providing us this instruction.
As you prepare your hearts to receive inspired instruction during our mission tour, please also come prepared with a notepad and writing instrument to record what you will be taught – and what you might feel beyond the words of instruction. Recording what you are taught and what you learn will help you apply this instruction. How you apply what you are taught is just as important as what you are taught. When the Lord visited the people here on the American continent, he instructed them:
“Therefore, go ye unto your homes, and ponder upon the things which I have said, and ask of the Father, in my name, that ye may understand...” (3 Nephi 17:3)
I hope each of you will extend the effort and take the time to ponder on the instruction we will be receiving. Be sure to review your notes. Ask yourself how you can apply what you will learn. I promise that as you study, ponder, and pray over the instruction we will be receiving, the Lord will expand your understanding – just as He promised the people here on the American continent.
Sister Quinn and I love you! We look forward to seeing you later this week in our mission tour.
Love,
President Quinn
