Urgency - Coming Closer to Christ
Once a month the mission leaders in the North America West Area have a Zoom call with the Area Presidency. This last week, during this call, President Bragg told us of a recent meeting he attended in which the prophet was present. In the meeting the prophet communicated the need for urgency in our practice of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Urgency was his message.

In our zone conferences this last week President Quinn ask our zone leaders to teach our missionaries the principle of urgency in their missionary work in building their relationship with Jesus Christ. In his instruction to our missionaries, President Quinn quoted Alma 7:7 , ”For behold, I say unto you there be many things to come; and behold, there is one thing which is of more importance than they all—for behold, the time is not far distant that the Redeemer liveth and cometh among his people.“
Thinking about urgency has made me examine my relationship with my Savior Jesus Christ. Am I standing strong with the Savior to withstand any spiritual battles? Am I feeling the presence of the Savior in my daily life? Am I ready to welcome the Savior when he comes again? What can I do to come closer to Christ?

Our technology missionaries have come up with a 30 day challenge to “Come Closer to Christ.” All of our missionaries will put this reel (below) on their FaceBook page to invite people in Northern California to engage in this challenge.

I am grateful for a prophet of God who has the foresight to help us understand the urgency to keep the Savior guiding and directing our lives. I am grateful for the Book of Mormon that teaches us how to make the Savior the center of our lives.
