Zone Conferences - Service Missionaries Join In!

This week was zone conference week where President Quinn and I travel around the mission for five days with the AP’s and Tech Elders to train our missionaries. We love this week because it gives us a chance to be with all 147 of the missionaries and feel of their goodness. (Missionary picture with President Quinn on blog home page is Elder Ramirez) Photos below from zone conferences.

There is exciting news and that is the service missionaries across the world are now integrating with the proselyting missionaries under the same mission president. We are excited to have the service missionaries in our area join us! Below are are our five service missionaries. They will continue with their regular service and will be invited to join us at zone conferences and district counsels when possible. They can also go out teaching with different companionships if they would like to include that in their service. Please meet these five missionaries:

The Quinns with Elder Shaw

The Quinns with Elder Martinsen

The Quinns with Elder Henneke

Sister Vandenburg

Sister Anderson

Elder and Sister Lowe are the service mission leaders . They work with the service missionaries to find opportunities for them to serve and to be social.

Along with having the service missionaries join us Three things that happened at Zone Conference this week.

ONE - During Zone Conferences missionaries from the eight different zones perform musical numbers. We had some amazing performances this week. Here is one of the performances from the Woodland zone.

Elder Jeffs, Elder Schmidt, Elder Eldredge, Elder Harlan, Elder Davis, Elder Smith, Sister Christensen Sister Piippo, and Sister Willard

TWO - We received a wonderful gift. Sister Chapman’s mother made the president and me this beautiful quilt. It has hand stitching on it with the different zone names and symbols along with our mission theme. This was such a touching gift. I know of all the time and work that goes into quilts. It was so kind of this sweet lady to make it for us! A big thank you!

THREE - Sister Kennan was asked to organize “Go Bags” for all the missionaries. They are basically 48 hour emergency kits to keep in each car. We so appreciate all of her efforts. As a mission we need to have a plan and be prepared in case of evacuation due to an earthquake or forest fire.

Thanks for keeping up to date with us. Have a wonderful week!
