Stature and Fullness of Christ

Stature and Fullness of Christ

President Quinn’s Weekly Message

California Santa Rosa Mission

November 27th, 2023

Sister Quinn and I hope you were able to enjoy a delicious and joyous Thanksgiving. We look forward to the approaching Christmas season. What a wonderful time to serve as a missionary! We are blessed to be emissaries of Jesus Christ. To share our testimonies that He lives and that His gospel has been restored to the earth. I am grateful to work with you in sharing this most important message.

During my recent interview cycle, I asked each of you to share with me your favorite talk from the October General Conference. Many of you picked President Oaks’ conference address, Kingdoms of Glory. I loved this talk as well. I wish to remind you of his message:

“The Apostle Paul taught that the Lord’s teachings and commandments were given that we may all attain “the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.” That process requires far more than acquiring knowledge. It is not even enough to be convinced of the gospel; we must act so that we are converted by it. In contrast to other preaching, which teaches us to know something, the gospel of Jesus Christ challenges us to become something.”

In recent visits with some of you, I have been reminded of the challenges and difficulties missionary service presents. A mission is hard. It requires the development – and continual exercise of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual muscles. Though challenging, your service as a missionary pays dividends for you and the friends you teach. Missionary service invites you to “become something” – a disciple of Jesus Christ. This becoming requires “acts” of obedience, effort and sacrifice to attain “the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.” This is the greatest gift of your missionary service – the gift to become more like the Savior, to enjoy the stature and fulness He gives to His disciples.

Please know that Sister Quinn and I see the stature and fulness of Christ in your lives and service. Thank you for your obedience and hard work in CASRM. You inspire us. We love you!

In closing, we learned last week that Sheri Neeley, the daughter of Elder and Sister Kunzler, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer. For those of you new to CASRM, Elder and Sister Kunzler served as a senior missionary couple with us before returning home in August to be with their daughter. We extend our deepest and sincerest sympathies to the Kunzlers and their family. Please continue to include them in your prayers.

Sister Quinn and I pray the Lord’s choicest and abundant blessings upon each of you.

Love,

President Quinn
