President Quinn’s Weekly Message
California Santa Rosa Mission
September 18th, 2023
WOW! What a remarkable three days we enjoyed last week during the mission tour. I will never forget the opportunity of having Elder and Sister Jackson here on a visit to CASRM. I loved the inspired messages we received during the tour. I would like to thank Elders Clark, Colling, Scoresby, and Anderson for the work they did before and during the conference. Much of their works was done behind the scenes. Thank you!
Thank you to our senior missionaries – the Larsens, Marchants, Jexses, and Sister Schneider for the food preparation. Everything was delicious!
Thank you to the STLs for organizing the minute to win it games. The games were a blast! It was obvious everyone had fun. Thank you to Sister Brockbank for sharing your artwork with us. The drawings of the Savior were inspiring.
Thank you to Sister Quinn for keeping us organized, food preparation, coordinating with the relief societies, the beautiful decorations on Thursday, and for preparing the lovely mission map bookmarks. These bookmarks will be a treasure for years to come. Elder Jackson commented as he left the mission home Friday morning, “It was obvious a lot of work was done to organize and prepare for this conference. Please thank everyone who worked so hard.”
Finally, thank you for your participation. It was so wonderful having all of us together on Thursday. The missionaries in CASRM love being together. Thank you for the love you show to one another. Thank you for your love and devotion to your callings as emissaries of Jesus Christ. I could not be prouder of you.
The Jacksons were impressed with the culture of obedience and love in our mission. During a dinner Thursday evening in the mission home with the stake presidents in our mission, Elder Jackson shared how impressed he was with our missionaries. He told the stake presidents how fortunate they were to have such fine missionaries serving with them. Elder Jackson encouraged them to train their members on how to work with you.
Please review your notes. Reflect on the things you were taught and the impressions that came to your mind. Apply these things in fulfilling your missionary purpose. We will revisit the instruction from the mission tour in future zone conferences. I invite zone and district leaders to find ways to review and apply the training in your future meetings. May we all follow the counsel President Nelson gave us at the end of April General Conference:
“My dear brothers and sisters, we have been spiritually fed… Those who have spoken have been instruments for the Lord. I pray that you will seek for the Holy Ghost to guide you in your study as you contemplate the truths taught… They have truly been heaven sent.”
Sister Quinn and I feel that each of you has been “heaven sent” to serve here in CASRM. We are grateful to serve with you. Thank you for your goodness and influence for good. Sister Quinn and I love you! Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
Love, President Quinn
